Wheelwash has recently completed a project in Fort William with BSW Timber, the largest forestry business in the UK. The group manufactures and supplies a wide range of quality, FSC®-certified sawn products for an array of industries and needed a bespoke solution to prevent the transfer of treatment chemicals onto the timber yard outside of the treatment centre. The wheel washing solution required a bespoke structure and fitting in order to work efficiently for BSW Timber. Through continuous collaboration between both parties, a diverse, effective system was created.
The site faced particular challenges whereby the site had to reconsider the original installation location of the system. With the advice of the Wheelwash team, the location moved across so that it became more practical allowing a turning circle. The treatment area needed to line up with wheel washing system so that the tankers could easily reverse through to refill the treatment tanks. Our dedicated engineer travelled 6 hours in order to oversee the delivery and installation of the system.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) were putting pressure on the site to install a system to solve their current issues. With the bespoke solution from Wheelwash in place, the site is now running smoothly with no threat of transferring chemicals to the timber yard. As a final part to the installation, the water recovery system has now been put in place to return the wastewater to the treatment facility. The site has also adjusted the timings of the wash system to suit their needs demonstrating the diversity of Wheelwash solutions.

Wheelwash has established a great working relationship with the BSW Timber, continuing to work with them over the next couple of years for maintenance checks. BSW Timber has been kind enough to allow other clients and even other timber processing sites to visit the installation to demonstrate the success of the system installed.
