Wheelwash is a global leader in wheel wash systems.
We have been the chosen provider for major UK construction projects – HS2, Heathrow, A14, Hinkley, Crossrail, and we also export globally. But this does not mean we rest on our laurels when it comes to innovation.
“We adopt the mindset that we never have the perfect solution. We are focused on continuous improvements.”
Wheelwash puts continuous innovation at the centre of the business. As we design and manufacture all our products from Cheshire, UK, it means we have complete control and flexibility to innovate rapidly.
We caught up with Jack Cunnington who has been a Design Engineer at Wheelwash since the day after he graduated University eight years ago.
Jack is also a member of the Wheelwash Research and Development team, so shared with us some of the latest innovations that the group has been testing.
Here are some of the latest innovations:
1. Relaunched wheel wash bath system
We relaunched our Ecobath wheel wash system. This was our first ever system. The main improvement we have made is to make the design so that it is lower to the ground. This lower profile is more aligned to modern day trucks with a lower ride height.
2) Developing spray technology to reduce costs
We are continually reviewing our spray systems. Here we are looking for more improvements to improve spray pattern design and coverage of chassis and tyres to suit ever changing truck designs, often these improvements can be retro fitted to older models. These optimisations improve spray pattern design and coverage of chassis and tyres to suit ever changing truck designs, often these improvements can be retro fitted to older models.
3) Improving green credentials of our products
Wheelwash are also focusing on how we can create greener products.
We constantly ask: How can we optimise every feature of our wheel wash so it uses less power and less water?
“The majority of this involves just fine tuning the range we’ve already got. Every month, the R&D team get all the feedback from customers, sales and site engineers. This constant feedback loop means we are continually improving our products and our services. We never settle and say we have found the perfect solution. It’s always about ongoing improvement.”
