Vélafl is the sole agent in Iceland for many of the world’s leading machine manufacturers. From its Headquarters in Rauðhella, near Reykjavík, Vélafl has been supplying, repairing, and servicing machinery since 1988.
Many heavy good vehicles pass through the site every day, taking machinery across the country. In a climate where sudden snow showers can break out in June and an average annual temperature of 0 degrees Celsius, Vélafl needed a robust, quality solution that would automatically prevent mud from site vehicles from being deposited onto public roads.
Having previously purchased our wheel wash systems, an employee at Vélafl knew from previous experience that our solutions could withstand extreme elements and provide high-performance, reliable wheel wash cleaning.
Our expert team built two 6m Ecowash Extra wheel wash stations which are now placed at each site exit. Ecowash Extra is a heavy-duty steel system that cleans vehicle tyres through 11 strategically placed delivery pipes. Due to the environmentally friendly and quality design of our wheel wash system, Ecowash Extra provides up to 50% savings on operational costs due to the way the system reuses water.
José Ordas, the Export Sales Coordinator at Wheelwash, managed the entire process, he said: “Our wheel wash systems can be exported anywhere across the globe. We build modular systems which means that our wheel wash stations are easily transported and assembled. For this customer, we loaded two 40-foot open-top shipping containers to transport their Ecowash Extra systems. The systems are flat-packed and we provided full loading, packing list, assembly instructions, and documentation.”
One of our engineers then went to Iceland to oversee the installation, train the team on using Ecowash Extra, and answer any questions on the maintenance of the system.
The client has been delighted with their two Ecowash Extra systems, saying that the solution is easy to use and that the systems consistently provide high-quality cleaning of vehicle wheels.
